What to Watch Out for Online Paid Surveys

Online paid surveys are becoming a fast growing phenomenon on the internet. Unfortunately, the way that this industry is growing isn’t what you’d think. There aren’t more and more paid surveys available, but rather more and more scams that are capitalizing on the inherent attractiveness of the idea of being paid to take surveys from your own home. Who doesn’t like the idea of answering some easy questions on their computer and getting paid? Real online paid surveys are a dream come true for anyone looking for some easy added income.

If you do a search for online paid surveys on Google, you’ll immediately see a whole host of sites come up that claim they can set you up with enough paid surveys to make a living from. These sites make ridiculous claims about the amount of money you could make in a day just by sitting around filling out online paid surveys. While many people can probably smell the scam from a mile away, the attractiveness of online paid surveys is apparently too much for some people to resist, because these sites are spawning everywhere.

Online paid surveys fall under the category of internet scams to be wary of. The vastness of the internet, and poor regulation, make for a high degree of abuse and deception, and you always need to keep that in mind when surfing the web. However, this fault of the internet is also a strength, in that you can easily and quickly research anything you want including potential scams. Just for fun, I decided I’d look into this whole online paid survey thing and see what I’d discover.

Not only are there plenty of shady sites offering deals to set you up with online paid surveys, but with a little further looking you’ll also see plenty of reviews about these sites and they’re all terrible. I read a number of angry rants from people tricked by these survey scams, and they all basically say the same thing; you pay them money, and they give you some links to survey sites that offer a ‘chance’ to participate in a paid survey, or more often a ‘chance’ to win some money or prizes by filling out their survey. Furthermore, the links they provide aren’t secret, and with a little research you could stumble on all these sites yourself.

If you are still interested in taking online paid surveys, don’t pay anyone that claims they can arrange surveys for you. Rather, sign up directly with survey sites themselves, and if you take enough of their surveys you may occasionally win a small bonus.
